Hello folks, I'm just going to list out the steps of what I did because I know I messed up, I'm not sure how to fix it. This is in Audition 5.0, for a podcast.
1. I moved around some files while I was still working on a multitrack session. Bad idea, I know, but I wasn't thinking.
2. So when I pulled Audition up again, it told me to link the files. There were 2 missing. But there was no option to choose which file linked to which track, so I figured Audition would be smart enough to read the names of the files. It was not. Now I have two tracks reading off the same file, though all my original edits are still there.
3. Audition now reads these two tracks as the same file, so moving the files around again doesn't work. When I try to link the media again, it links both tracks to the one file.
4. I very, very much don't want to re-edit this entire podcast, because it takes several hours of work. Does anybody know how to link media to a specific track? Or tell Audition to not treat two tracks as one file? I'm desperate here, I've exhausted my resources. I can't be the first person this has happened to.
