Referencing Adobe Audition software and spectrograms – overlap settings?
Hi everyone,
Ive been using Adobe Audition 5.0 for some bioacoustics analysis. Im currently writing it up, and will be referencing Adobe Audition during my results section.
Whilst aurally and visually inspecting the spectrograms, I used the Blackmann-Harris window NFFT=1024. But I do not know what the overlap is?!
I have searched all through settings in Adobe Audition, and there is no preference/selection you can make for overlap. Nor is there any description as to what Adobe Audition has possibly already set it at.
Does anyone know what the preset setting is for overlap? i.e. 50% overlap/ or 75% overlap?? Or does that mean there is no overlap??
Currently I am referencing it at:
Adobe Audition 5.0 (Blackmann-Harris window of length NFFT=1024).
To help give an example, Im also using MATLAB and I will be referencing it as follows:
spectrograms were produced for inspection using a 1024-point Hanning window with 95% overlap
Any help or understanding would be much appreciated!!!
Thank you all so much in advance!
Cheers,
Bec.
