Facts:
I'm operating on relatively short WAV files (2MB, 48Khz, 32-bit, Mono).
I'm attempting to remove unwanted sounds using the Lasso selection tool on the Spectral Frequency display. I have the spectral resolution cranked up to the full 16384 using Blackman-Harris Function.
After a random amount of lasso selections and deletions (1-10 or so), I experience a crash when drawing the lasso selection where Audition must close and offers to try and save work (Which I don't do because I seem to be getting WAV corruption when I agree, but that's another issue...). I am not running out of memory and it has nothing to do with undo history (tried deleting it every edit and still crashes).
Also, I have observed the exact same style of crashes on two completely different systems with different hardware configs. One Mac running Audition CC using a ProFire2626, and one PC running Audition CC 2014 using a different external FW box, on different WAV files with same format specs. Using different storage as well, so so nothing at all in common between them.
Questions:
1) Any ideas for a fix, and has anybody else seen this and got it working?
2) I literally have restarted Audition over a hundred times trying to finish this project, and tried multiple machines and installs. The tool works great when it doesn't crash, but at this point I'm also interested in hearing about any competing products that support this sort of spectral editing. What are your experiences with other options?
