Need some help getting started

I have downloaded adobe audition cc a few days back and I actually love the software.  I've been looking for a package like this and have downloaded demos on multiple packages like Qbase 7 and Presonus and several others.  I really love the features.  However I'm very frustrated by the fact that I can not get any information on proper hardware to use such as a decent Interface that I understand should use ASIO drivers.  The only think I'm looking at doing with it is importing .mp3 karaoke songs and being able to play that music inside of audition, hear that in my headphones and also be able to sing and hear myself and have the vocals recorded in a separate track.  Shouldn't seem to difficult right?  However I currently have a NON usb mixter and through the CD outputs I have that going into a simple u-control audio interface into my USB.   I plug my headphones into my mixer and for the music I have that coming out of my laptop headphone jack into my mixer.  The problem is that when I play the mp3 in audition I hear that music mixed with my voice through my mixer.  But on the vocal track I record not only my voice but it's also recording the music because it's coming in on the same USB from my mixer.  I don't want this because I have no way then to mix the music and my vocals seperately.  So I'm sure this is a big mistake a lot of people make.    So my question would be

1.)  If I purchase some better quality interface with ASIO will I be able to record the music into it's own track and my vocals into another track at the same time while hearing both music and vocals in my headphone.  If so any recommendations on what to use for anyway between 200 to 500 dollars?

2.)  Any recommendations on hardware connections to make sure that I can hear both music playing internally on the track in audition and hear my vocals at the same time along with the effects like reverb being applied to the vocal track at the same time?

It's just really frustrating that a company like adobe who makes such and awesome software doesn't team together to package a bundle of hardware with it like an interface tested with audition along with perhaps a condenser mic etc.with instructions on properly hooking it up.  I have looked on youtube at so many video's trying to see how people connect up the interface and do recordings like I'm trying to do and have come up empty.  There are all these tutorials on how to record in audition even on adobe's learning videos.  But every single one is just about recording a single track and that's so easy to do.  It's when your trying to do to inputs at the same time from different sources or even just one input with a mp3 playing that is so not out there anywhere I can find.

I'm almost ready to walk away from this software because of total lack of help or tutorials in this area.  And that's a shame because this is some great stuff.  Adobe needs to get there act together and be a little more helpful in this area.  Any help would be appreciated.
