Sound Remover Issue

I'm having a problem with the Sound Remover tool and I'm not sure whether it's because I'm using it wrong (probable), not understanding its capabilities (possible), or it's a bug (unlikely).

Basically, there's a piece of sound I want to remove, so I get the lasso or brush tool, select it, learn the sound profile. Then, I use the Time Selection Tool to select the area just before and after the sound and run the Sound Remover over it. The sound gets removed, but at the start position of the area selected by the Time Selection Tool, the volume drops to zero very briefly.

Refer to the two images below. The top image shows the orginal sound profile and I want to remove the large 'blob' in the middle of the screen. The second image shows the edited sound profile with the 'blob' removed, but there's now a zero crossing (highlighted in yellow) at the exact position that the selection started for the area to apply the Sound Remover to.

I do not see how this could be happening, especially as the area I selected to learn the noise profile only contained a limited frequency range (~2k - 10k), not the entire spectrum.

Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong?
