SADiE Style "Slip" Function for Speech Editing/Radio Production in Audition

Hi Guys,

This is my first post here - I've had a dig around on the forum and couldn't find an answer to my question so I figured I'd start a thread. I've been producing radio programmes in SADiE for years, but I'm starting to get a bit sick of its quirks. It looks like Audition might be a great alternative, but SADiE has a really crucial function that I'm not sure I could live without - slip editing.

When you turn "the slip" on in SADiE then select a piece of audio on your timeline, all the audio to the right of that piece becomes highlighted and will slide as if you've selected it. This is a really useful function when making radio as it keeps your programme's structure in place and saves you from constantly having to use your mouse to select all the audio every time you want to slide a clip around on your timeline without pulling your programme to pieces and leaving gaps or accidentally pushing clips on top of one-another  etc.

The other really handy function the slip offers is that it can make all the audio to the right of your edit automatically slip over to the left when you remove a breath, an umm or a few words in a piece of speech you want to delete. This means you don't have to select all the audio to the right of your edit and then move it over to fill in the space left by the breath/words you've edited out.

The crucial question - does Adobe offer similar functionality or a work around?

Any advice you might have would be much appreciated.

All the best,

Max
