Hi,
I’m getting a repeatable persistent issue with Audition which causes a Crash to Desktop (CtD).
When launching certain audio filters Audition will always Crash to Desktop. This is repeatable and happens with a range of filters, I can supply a log if this helps.
To be clear some effects do work, others - such as FFT Filter - CtD when clicking the play button within the effects window.
I’m happy to provide further, more comprehensive information if it will help.
System details:
- HP OMEN Pro Notebook
- Intel i7-4870HQ @ 2.5Ghz
- 16GB internal Ram
- 256GB SSD
- 1TB External HDD
- Windows 10
- Adobe Master Collection CS6
- Audition (5.0.2)
Steps to reproduce:
- Run Adobe Audition
- Open an audio file (of any format) in Audition ensuring the waveform is in the editing workspace
- Choose ‘Effects >Noise Reduction / Restoration > Adaptive Noise Reduction (or Hiss reduction, or Noise Reduction)’
(some effects work, others - such as FFT Filter - CtD when clicking the play button within the effect window)
Things that have been attempted to resolve the issue:
- Rebooting the system
- Closing all other running programs
- Changing the file being edited
- Changing the format of the file being edited
- Changing the location of the file being edited
- Changing from integrated Graphics to dedicated GPU when running the program
- Updating GPU drivers
- Disabling second Monitor
- Updating Windows 10
- Installing and switching to ASIO drivers as suggested in other posts (issue persists)
- Disabling Anti-virus
- Emailing audbugs@adobe.com (on 24th Sep 2015)
- Desperately browsing Adobe support forums for other solutions!
At present the software is of no use to us, due to the variety of filters that cause a CtD. My organisation will not allow Adobe CC, so this is not at option for us.
Please can someone help, i'm all out of ideas
