I hope you will excuse this forum off topic question.
When I was a TV sound supervisor in the 1980s and 90s almost all our audio work was done on a 2" 24 track tape machine. This included music recording, prefade protection copies of game shows and dubbing masters. These multi-track machines were to be found in almost every studio and a lot of our work was sent to and received from other studios using this universal format. What is now the recognised format for sending and receiving multi-track projects? Is it a Protools project, a polywav copy... are there standards that everybody sticks to, or is it like video (which I am now more involved in) where everybody seems to have their own prefered format. The days where you just sent a digibeta tape have long gone.
This question is for no specific reason other than curiosity.
