Creating individual songs from the multitrack editor

I recently recorded Handel's Messiah to a multitrack recorder which created a program over an hour in length. I then created a multitrack session in Audition CC 8.1.0.162 and used the razor tool to divide the program into individual clips. There were 10 recorded tracks and 33 songs/narrations.

What I want to do is to create a new multitrack for each song/narration within the program. I can do that now but discovered that even though the new multitrack songs only show the portion of the original timeline, if I double-click on any of the tracks to edit them in some way in the waveform editor, the entire original track appears. I do not want any audio except the particular song/event I wish to work on.

I then want to apply whatever effects I like, mix the song, and then do a mixdown of each song individually. I will then master each song using iZotope Ozone 7 Advanced and assemble them into an Audition CD layout or maybe a project in Studio One 3 Pro. If I use Studio One I will do my mastering within their project module, again using Ozone 7.

You may ask why don't I just use Studio One to mix and master. The main reason is that I have not found an efficient way to send one or more tracks into iZotope RX 5 in order to use some of the modules that are not available in a DAW, Audition has an RX 5 Connect VST3 effect that allows me to send a track or a portion of a track to RX 5, do what I need to do, return it to Audition and render it. Studio One does not have that feature.

Any help and suggestions will be welcomed!
