In Audition CS5.5 on Windows, if I create a new multitrack files, the record button is greyed out. I can create a new .wav, record in it, save it, and add it to the multitrack, but that's a very inefficient process when doing voice takes. What I would like to do.
- create a new multitrack file and specify it's drive/folder location
- record new audio clips and save them to the same drive/folder location as the multtrack file
Soundbooth would let me do consecutive takes, and increment the file name with a counting-upward number and save them in the same location. With Audiion, the way I'm doing it is rediculous. Create a new .wav, give it a name where I manually count the previous files's version + 1, record in it, save it to the same file/folder where the multitrack resides, and add it to the multitrack.
I find it hard to believe that Adobe's professional audio software makes it this difficult, so I must be missing something. What's a better way to do this?
Thanks!
