Audition Match Clip Volume

Hello, I am trying to do something quite easy here but can't figure this out. All I want to do is control what decibel the highest peak in an audio file will go to. I right click the audio clip, select Match Clip Volume, set to Peak Amplitude,

enter a Target Volume decibel, and hit OK.  When I play back the audio clip, the highest/loudest peak does not hit the Target Volume I entered. Sometimes not even close. In the mixer, I have the specific audio channel and Master

Channel set to 0 dB.  This doesn't make sense to me. Any suggestions would be great. Using Adobe Audition CC. Thanks a lot.

How to move clips without overlapping ones downstream ?

I am editing a single track in a multitrack mode and can't figure out how to move clips forward without overlapping them. Ihave numerous clips and when i want to stretch one out with the Slip tool the clips downstream don't move to make room. (It's a traffic jam).  There must be a simple way to do this seeming common procedure. Please advise.

Gradual pitch reduction

Hi,

 

I'm brand new to audition but I have a music clip I would like to gradually reduce the pitch over the last 10 seconds of the clip.  Kind of like a fade out but with pitch reduction instead.  Can someone tell me how to do this?  Does audition use key frame like premiere?

Working with an Audio File in Audition which has Multiple Cuts in Premiere

Hello,


I am quite new to Audition and am trying to apply noise reduction to tracks from Premiere...


As I do not want to edit the original audio files and I do not know of a less painstaking method, I have been creating copies of the original audio files (for example a 30m interview), processing the whole file, then essentially re-editing the whole segment by copying/pasting the multiple pieces of processed audio individually in the place of the originals, which is proving to be incredibly time-consuming.


I am wondering if there is an an easier way of working with sequences with a lot of cuts in Premiere and which are sourced from the same audio file?


I was planning initially to just copy/paste the files as they are in the Premiere timeline but I guess this would just alter the original file?


Any thoughts are hugely appreciated...

How to restore Multiband Compressor?

All of a sudden, in the middle of an editing session [Audition CC 2014/Yosemite], Multiband Compressor stopped working. When I click on it, nothing happens. It doesn't crash Audition, as some have reported, but the effect just doesn't launch.

 

I searched this site and the web, no joy.

 

How do I restore this important tool?

 

I tried restarting, resetting PRAM/SMC...everything I can think of.

 

If I have to unin/reinstall, how do I make sure my Favorites, etc are saved first? I found files & folders in the /7.0 folder and copied them, but don't want to re-do everything.

"Go to" commands (in Waveform view)?

Does Audition (CC v6) have any "go to" commands, e.g., to move to a specific time or a specific marker number?

I've checked the Adobe Audition CC Help document and searched the forum but can find no reference to such a navigation command.

How to select more than one track

Hi,

I'm new to Audition and I can't figure out how to select more than one clip/track in Audition 2014 multitrack view.  I tried holding down shift and/or control and clicking on more than one clip or track, but that doesn't work.  I have separate clips on the different tracks and I'd like to be able to select them all the move them the same distance.  Is there any way to do this?  Thanks. 

 

Also, is there anything like a "missing manual" anywhere online for Audition?  All I can find are specific tutorials on specific topics.  Thanks again.

How to remove noise from voiceover

I am an audition CS 6 newbie.  I have tried several methods of noise reduction, but still have a noise under the voice in my voiceover.  How do I get rid of this?  I have tried adaptive noise reduction and noise reduction process. The sound is like sand being very lightly shaken beneath the voice.  Any advice in very simple terms would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Adding parallax in fluid grid layout

How can I add a jquery effect (parallax bacground effect) in a fluid grid layout? I download it from the web (the effect), I use it in a blank html page and all works correctly. Using it in a  fluid grid and no images appears and no effect.. why?


In the Fluid grid layout I add the .html information inside the container.. and I add the css information in first place.

Audition CS6 plugin scan freezes and/or crashes the system

It seems that every time I try to scan for VST-effects, Adobe Audition either hangs at 0% or freezes my system by loading 6500+ processes and using 100% of my system memory (16Gb).

As a result, it can't find any plugins.

I have tried these solutions:

  • Moving VST folder to another drive and scanning it there
  • Trying to scan just one empty folder
  • Updating to the latest version of Audition (problem existed before and after huge Adobe update)
  • Tried to have only certain, guaranteed to work plugins in the folder
  • Running Audition as system admin and making sure that folder is readable

However result is always the same: no progress or system slowdown leading to crash.

 

My system is Win7 64-bit.

 

Is there a fix or at least a theory what the problem might be?

Premiere Sequence opened in AuditionCC2014 contains wrong audio files

Hi,

I have been able to export Premiere sequences successfully to Audition in the past; however, recently when I export a sequence to Audition (using the "edit in Audition feature), the wrong audio files appear in the Audition multitrack session that is created.

 

Specifically, instead of the session including all of the appropriate audio files from my Premiere sequence, Audition only includes the audio from one merged clip -- and this is a clip that is not even in the sequence! (Although it is in the project.)  If this is any help, the merged clip that opens in Audition happens to be the first clip that opens alphabetically in my project tab, Scn001_tk001_merged

 

Also, instead of copying just the files that are in the particular sequence I am exporting, Audition seems to be copying a lot of extra audio files that also happen to be in the project.  (There are quite a lot of files, since the project is the first 30 minutes of a feature film.)

 

Exporting the sequence as an OMF file and importing it into Audition works fine, although I would prefer to use the Audition interchange method so I can preserve file names and other metadata, as well as stereo tracks.

 

Thanks for any suggestions.  I am on an early 2011 MacBook pro, with Yosemite 10.10.2

Is There a Way to Change Tempo/Speed Over Time? Audition CC 2014

When I use Premiere Pro's Time Remapping to gradually speed a clip up, the audio obviously doesn't change with the video. I was looking to see if there is a way to do the same change to the audio, within Pr Pro or Audition (I have already asked in the Pr Pro forums, and have ruled Pr out). I spent some time looking in the programs and also Googling yesterday, but didn't find much. Does anyone know a way to do this? I did try using Audacity (Sliding time Scale/Pitch Shift), but the way Audacity processes the audio is quite a bit different than Pr Pro/Au.

I do a radio show, when I pre-record i get a very low end hiss, almost sounds like gain is too high, but its not. If Im live to the station its fine. It only happens when I record. Is there a way to set audition NOT to record that low end sound?

I use an Allen & Heath broadcast board. When I record to my computer for later broadcast there is a low end hiss/hum barely noticeable when im speaking BUT very prominent when there is a quiet moment.

Sounds like gain may be tooo high, BUT its not.  When I do a LIVE broadcast using same equipment all is fine!

Au CC - all presets from Effects Rack vanished. Help?

Hi there,

Suddenly I lost all the presets from my Effects Rack. There is literally nothing. Not even presets that were in AuCC to begin with. Any idea how can I restore them? Windows 8, Adobe Audition CC 2014.

eq question

Im doing hiphop..and ive gotten pretty good at mixing, but im struggling with eqing vocals to get a more upfront sound. Ive made sure the artist is close enough to the mic already. And ive also looked online and found alot people say to add eq at 200-800hz to add more fullness and upfrontness..ive noticed this work some, but adds alot of muddiness and muffled sound to the vocals...any ideas?
