Does anyone know if this is possible: How to SPLIT ONE STEREO TRACK'S L & R CHANNELS INTO TWO MONO CHANNELS? There's got to be a way, but I just can't find out how.
I recorded a podcast -- me and a guest, with each mic going to its own mono channel. When I opened it in Audition it mixed them into one stereo channel.

Hi. I have a stereo file, where the L track contains the "A" mic and the R track contains "A+B" mic. Is there a way to output only the B mic? Both are female voices. Thanks in advance!
An on-camera speaker, while wearing a lav, was a little enthusiastic, and I was given a video with lots of little distorted loud spots in the audio.
Is this something I can tone down in Premiere, or do I need to take it into Audition? Is there a filter I can use that can ease off on those hot spots?

I'm attempting to output the "Master" in my multitrack mix to 8 channels. This way I only need to apply my compression and EQ at the end of the chain, instead of for each channel individually.
Is this possible?

I have a user here in our music department that is all of a sudden having a problem when he hits play button and not
getting any sound to play. The marker does not move at all, nothing happens, no sound either.
This happens in audition when playing a sound file from a recording device attached via usb as well as sound files stored
on the hard drive. I have reinstalled the software and still no luck. Do you have any ideas for fixing this issue? We are using
Windows 7, 64 bit 6460b hp laptop. The sound files play fine in media player and audacity, just not in audition. We will look through
forums, but if there is a quick fix let us know.

When I start Audition i get an error message saying the program cant start because of cfhddecoder64.dll is missing. does anyone have a fix for this?
I am using windows 7-64 bit; intel i7-4770k @3.50ghz.
I should note that I can bypass this message, however, i have no audio at this point.

I did a fresh install of my Windows 8.1 64 Bit system. I`m a Creative Cloud user and have installed the latest versions. I´m mainly using Adobe Audition.
I use a GTX 770 driver Version 340.52 Graphics Card. I have a Core i7 CPU with 32 GB Ram.
There are two severe bugs which I was not able to solve:
- since yesterday when opening an audio file in the waveform editor, I can not see the file anymore. It looks like this.
- second problem: Whenever I switch from a wor4kplace back to the classic workplace Audition crashes.
Do you have any suggestions how to solve these severe and annoying problems?
So I'm trying to do a simple amplify envelope, with smooth louden and quieting, and the only envelope I can find is the Volume Envelope. But when I try using it, the maximum volume is 100% which is the original volume. The only tool I can find to make it actually louder is Amplify, which just makes the whole selection larger in decibels, with no volume curvature. I just want to smoothly lift the volume from 100% to something around 500%, and then smoothly let it back down to 100%.
How do I manage this?
Does anyone know?
Simply right clicking on the file doesn't give me a rename option. Any ideas?

Please list all the steps necessary to create an 8-channel .wav file from input files that are either 5.1 and 2.0 AC3/E-AC3 or .wav files. There may be some file-naming conventions involved--and name-changing. Channelization may also be an issue.
Is it possible to completely remove background music? I've been watching these videos on YouTube, such as this Damon & Elena - Back To You (6x13) - YouTube and I know for a fact that on some of the quotes/lines from the show had background music which is now completely unhearable. So how do you do it with Audition? I can get a lot of it out, but when it's during a line, it's hard to extract it....

i get a session with empty clip on track 1 
i know I can export omf and aif but its just annoying to me that this is happening I used to use that feature with no problem

I need to work on a session recorded in Pro Tools. Can I import an OMF file/session into Audition CC?
I have Audition 3.0. Legit and paid for. Something fried my old computer and I have installed my Audition 3 on the new one (Windows 7). I cannot activate Audition. Their Help agent provided a download of Audition that does not require activation. The install wizard for that version demands a serial number. The serial from my original box does not work. Subsequent help agents I have contacted are no help. This isn't a technique question, it's a question for Mister Adobe, but maybe you know him, or some way around all these catches.

Hi there. I have recently installed Adobe Audition7.2 on my windows 8.1 and I noticed microphone sound recording button inside the program is disabled while at the same time I was able to record using other programs on my windows. I worked with my AU and eliminate background noise of an old sample recorded audio ((my in-built mic is so noisy!). I selected a noisy area and went through Effect/ Noise reductions-restrictions/capture noise print. Then again I went through Effect/ Noise reductions-restrictions/Noise reduction process and apply the settings. Although It works and my sample file got better(without significant noise), I encountered another problem-my microphone does not respond normally both in AU and on other windows software. The recorded sound now go off and on (choppy) while recording. How can I solve the problem?
I also followed the instruction on this link https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1546014?start=0&tstart=0 and installed ASIO4ALL… but it does not work-the program may not work correctly for me.

Recently, I placed some markers during a live recording in Audition. Then I tried to merge two markers by CTRL selecting them, Right-clicking and Merge markers from the markers panel usually on the left side of the screen. And something strange happened. Usually, merging markers should create a marked duration but both markers were merged and the whole recording suddenly just reset. Clean. Blank. Like a new file but with the merged markers still intact on the markers panel. My recording so far was ofcourse gone. But when I create a marker (also while recording) and from the markers panel; click and drag over the duration, a marked duration is created as should be.
Now I wonder why creating a marked duration by using the right-click command has a different effect than just editing the marker duration.
In all instances, I created markers by pressing M. Also,both methods work just fine when am not marking a live recording. I think there's some kind of bug

Audition used to open .au files and then after a windows update (not sure when and what) I'm getting the Error: "This file is not supported by libsndfile. Code: 92. Bad format field in SF_INFO struct when opening a RAW file for read. We were unable to open this file using any of the currently available importers. It is either corrupt or using an unsupported format."
I have Enabled DLMS format support under Dynamic Link Media
I have opened the file with VLC Player seamlessly.

Hi all, big time new audio guy here! Super excited to get involved i this journey.
I'm hoping to get pointed in the right direction with configuring Adobe Audition to record several inputs.
Naturally, I'm running into issues.
Here's my setup:

I'm attempting to get things setup for podcast recording (my voice coming through the Heil PR40, a guest's voice coming from Skype, all going through the mixer, and eventually into Adobe Audition (hopefully on different tracks if possible like I see here). Throughout recording, ideally I'd like to be listening in on all of the various sound (microphone, Skype, computer noises) via headphones plugged into the mixer.
Here's my current issue and hypotheses:
By editing the properties of my Windows 7 sound "Recording devices" and "Playback devices" I've been able to get to a spot where I can record either my voice, or separately, what's coming natively from my computer (i.e. computer noises or Skype caller), but, I'm not able to record both, and I cannot do any of this in a "Multitrack session" but rather a "Audio file".
I have to imagine that the issue is largely my Windows 7 sound setup. After searching the web for tutorials, reconfiguring the settings, I don't make incremental progress forward, I take a step back and then one forward perhaps.
I know that Adobe Audition can do what I want, but I'm confused / questioning whether I have the right equipment to make it happen, or, if I do have the right equipment and it's simply a matter of configuring everything correctly?
I do hope that someone in the community has some guidance on this front. Thanks so much!
