How to combine 2 or more Audition sessions/projects

Hello again!

 

Once again I did try to find an answer before posting and couldn't find an one, so hoping to rely once again on the fabulous brains that reside here!

 

Okay...I have a 30 minute drama podcast. I would like to create a separate Audition multitrack session/project for each scene so I can work it to death without getting all tangled up in a 30 minute timeline.

 

Once I get all 8 scenes edited, each in their own Audition multitrack session, I would then need to combine them along with the opening and closing sesx into one master session.

 

How do I stitch together multiple sesx files into one uber session?

Monitor levels in Multitrack

Hi,

 

I'm trying to monitor my levels on the selected track armed for recording in a Multitrack project using the Level Meter Window, but the Level Meter Window does not work as it does in Waveform mode.

 

Alt+i does nothing and when right clicking, the option "Meter Input Signal" is greyed out. The Windows Level Meter Window works fine when playing a track, but during recording (or before recording, when the track is armed for recording) the only level meter working is the small one of the armed track itself.

 

How can I get the Level Meter Window to display the levels of the armed+selected track in a Multitrack session?

 

And a related question:

 

In a Multitrack session, BOTH the small track Level Meter when recording and later, the big Level Meter Window when playing, show the levels clipped at -3db: the display never goes above -3db and never gets into the red "peak" markers. But this is only an apparent clipping: when the same file is viewed in Waveform mode (or in a different app) it shows, correctly, the levels going above -3db and peaking.

 

How can I get the level meters to show levels above -3db in Mutitrack mode and register peaking when it does occur?

 

I'm using Audition CC 11.0.2.2 (just updated it)

I just spent a full day on a project, it crashed, and there are no autosaves?!

Only autosaves now are after I reopened it after crash. What can I do?

 

There are autosaves of the project that I "saved as" from but that was created over a day ago.

 

Any help much appreciated.

How can I make make all clips in multitrack the same volume without clicking and dragging?

I have tons of clips in the multitrack and want to make all the volume levels (not gain levels) set to 0 db.

 

Is there an easy way to do that without clicking and dragging all 500 clips?

Is "Vocal Enhancer" at music preset & "Make Room For Vocals" Mastering preset the same thing? Are they redundant?

How do I export a Workspace?

I have multiple workstations running Adobe Audition that need the same customized window layouts. I would like to export a configured workspace to be implemented on the rest of the machines. The objective is to ensure anyone using any machine has the same workspace environment.

 

If anyone has a better way of doing this I am open to suggestions.

5.1 multitrack template - new and 'improved' or worse?

I've not been happy with the 5.1 Multitrack template in the latest update of Audition versus the previous version. I'm not sure if it's because something needs to be done differently in either mindset or settings, or if the changes just are detrimental overall and I should just go back to the old template.

 

One thing is that  the new template doesn't automatically create a Track Panner setup and I have to do it all manually for each track. And when doing so, I've noticed a change - in the old template, if one looks at the Track Panner window, you would see a single line or spoke going from the center to wherever you chose (C, L, R, etc).  In the new template, you get a 'stereo' cone that has the L, C, R, etc as the center but a stereo spread of 30 degrees (so center is going from L to R with C as the center 'point'). And when bounced to Premiere Pro, the tracks are bounced as stereo channels not Mono.

 

When exporting a multichannel Dolby track for DVD or Bluray using these newer stereo tracks it just sounds...weaker and muddier than doing it the old way. So I'm not sure if there's something I need to be considering to optimize things with the new format, or just open the old template and use that.

Bonjour, sa fait prés de 3 jours que je m'acharne à enregistrer mais rien n'y fait !

lorsque j'enregistre mon synthé, aucun problème sa fonctionne (c'est juste une boucle que je duplique), mais des que j’enregistre sur la seconde piste (ma voix ce coup si)

j'ai ce code erreur qui apparaît "une exception inconnue à été détecté (code E06D7363)"

Noise Reduction selection no longer an option

Good afternoon from the UK.

I'm new to Audition and have been following various tutorials on YouTube to learn how to use the software.

After recording some Audio for the first time and hearing a hissing throughout in the background, I decided to look into Noise Reduction. I followed all the instructions and initially this worked.

Now in creating a new recording and selecting a sample, it won't let me click 'noise Reduction or/Capture Noise Print' at all. I've tried without selecting first and then with selecting. I've tried in and out of a recording format. I am in the Podcast format if this makes any difference.

Can anyone suggest where I'm going wrong?

I sound like I'm in a tunnel, can I fix this with a filter?

So I went out and bought the wrong mic for recording voice overs... which I realize only now that it's too late to bring back. I've got a Snowball with a homemade pop filter in front of it, but I still sound like I'm in a tunnel ... or a really small, cramped office (go figure!). I've been playing around with compression, but I don't know anything about audio so I'm not sure how to even describe my problem, let alone figure out how to fix it. Hoping someone can identify this "tunnel" sound for me and school me in the appropriate processing to use, assuming there is one.

Is it possible to work back between Premiere and Audition with editing changes?

Hello everybody...

Simple question... I have a sequence in Premiere that needs some changes but already did the mix in a multitrack sequence in Audition.

Is there a way to export the premiere sequence changes to the same audition working file without having to redo all the mix? Same as it used to be in FC7.

audio popping in the exported file, but not in the sesx file

Hi!

 

So I've recorded some music using Adobe Audition using a backing track and my mini studio set. All is recorded and finished with a few effects.

 

Playback using Audition seems to be fine, occasionally some pops will come up but if I go back to repeat where I heard the pop, it doesn't play again - so I assume its a buffering or cache issue. When I export it to mp3, wav and aac, the files actually retain the pops in different spots to the playback in Audition but this time when I go back to replay it, the pop is still there. So the popping becomes apart of the track even though it is technically not in the sesx file.

 

Is there a way I can fix this? Perhaps an export type that doesn't produce the popping...

How do I transfer the Presets?  Where are they located?

CS6 - assigned shorcuts do not work !

Hi Adobe,
I have assigned the shortcut "C" to the "FADE IN" function. Unfortunately, this command does not work during use. I am unable to enter the "FADE IN" function using a shortcut on the keyboard. The only possibility to use the fade in / out function is only through the mouse.
In the old version of Audition 3.0 everything worked without a problem. Why are not abbreviations used in CS6 as well? Should I change something in the CS6 settings?

I have sound from a video but no sound from mono wav files on 5.1 multitrack

I got an AAF of a short film and used AATranslater to create an SESX file from it that I opened in Audition.

AATranslater converted the aiff files into .wav, too. I've done this before with no problem.

 

The mono .wav files populated a stereo multitrack from the AAF/SESX conversion and I copied them to a 5.1 SESX session I created to mix in.

I then added a video with a stereo audio track attached, which plays nicely when the spacebar is pressed on the multitrack.

 

The mono .wav files do not show any meter or make any sound when the timeline is playing, but I can hear each file perfectly in the waveform editor.

I checked the output routing and they are all set to Master.

I know my surround is working because I can pan the audio from the video to all of my speakers.

 

This is very weird and frustrating.

What else can I do or check?

Issue to transfer marker from Premiere Pro to Audition

Hello.

Since the last Adobe product update, I can no longer transfer the markers I made in Premiere Pro to Audition using Edit / Edit in Adobe Audition / Sequence. In the versions, everything was automatic.

He has a person who has found a way to do it, but this method is worthy of the Stone Age. (Without wishing to offend the person who found this solution;)) Here is the link: https://prestopod.com/import-markers-into-adobe-audition/

How manually adjust a few notes to microtones

I'm of Egyptian Jewish descent and am learning the Egyptian Jewish music system. I've found some recent recordings of a fairly good chanter, but unfortunately he spent so long living in America that his chanting has shifted to a more western scale than the Eastern scale. The scale should properly be:

 

d, e quarter flat, f, g, a, b quarter flat, c, d.

And his chanting is now (obviously)

d, e, f, g, a, b, c, d

 

I'd like to manually go in and adjust the e and b notes to being a quarter flat. Anyone have any ideas on how I could do that in Audition?
