Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface (2nd Generation)

Will the above work with adobe audition?

 

I have audition cc 11.1.1.3--with windows 7

 

I'm trying to upgrade my audio vo interface--which now consists of a behringer xenyx 1204 connected to the usb adaptor the mixer came with--that usb adaptor seems a bit noisy. So wanted to check before i buy---any help or experiences with this unit would be appreciated--also if you have any other usb interfaces that work well/better--please let me know--as I'm not neccessarily married to the idea of buying THIS one....

How to show track info on CD

Hello, I am a complete novice using Audition. I've managed to record several tracks, organize them into a CD, and burn them to a CD that plays nicely. However, the track info does not show up. Even though I've named each of the tracks, they come up as Track 1, 2, etc. Also, the artist, album, and genre show up blank as well. I've entered the information in the Metadata...although it's quite extensive, and its possible I've missed something.

 

Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to enter the information that comes up on the CD?

 

I have searched this forum, and if this question has been asked, I apologize, I haven't found it.

Audition, macbook and Scarlett 18i8 2nd gen

I want to use Audition, MacBook Air and Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 2nd gen to record my radio shows and need to record 3-4 channels.

 

Currently, with Audition, I can only recognize 2 channels. Is there a way to use Audition to record more than 2 channels with this equipment?

Setting Up A New Mixer

I recently bought the Zedi10 4x4 audio interface and I'm having some issues setting it up with Audition CC. In the Audio Hardware settings I have it set as a WASAPI device which is the only way I could get it to give me the correct 4 channels in the drop down menu for selecting an input. HOWEVER, when I try to record anything nothing happens. I can check the level of ONLY input 1 and record it in Waveform view but I can't get it to record at all in multi-track. I understand that sometimes there's an issue where if the "Default Stereo Input" is set to "None" then you can't record. Mine says None but I went into the Audio Mapping and it lists the correct device as default. What am I doing wrong here? I want to set this up to deliver the 4 channels in multi-track for podcasting but I can't seem to find and answer. See pictures for more info.

Remove everything, but leave drums

I have an alternative rock song I want to sync with a short film, but I have some problems matching the song drums to the video cuts.

 

I am using the audio waveform in Premiere to help me understand better where the drums land so I can make the cuts there.

However, because of all the other musical instruments and the voice, the spikes in the waveform for the drums are not evident.

 

I would prefer to remove everything and just leave the drums, to help me do a spot on editing.

 

Is there a way to accentuate the drums in Audition?

This is my experimentation in removing everything else and accentuating drums, but the drums became muffled and mix in with the noise. The data on the waveform is not that helpful. (please lower the volume when you are playing it)

AFTER recent Windows 10 Update (1803) > Input Device Error/Undefined external error.

The recent Windows 10 Update (version 1803) clobbered my Adobe Audition.  I have what I believe are the identical settings for Audition on a Windows 10 version 1709 that works fine.  But with the latest version of Windows 10, when I try to record I get and Input Device Error dialogue box with the message "Undefined external error."

 

Any suggestions for how to solve this?  Has anybody else run into this problem? 

 

I'm running an old version of Audition 1.5 (build 4124.1).

Seeking an ethnic or foreign musician or acoustician volunteer, for research on dolphin songs.

 

      I have a BA in life science, would like to be a graduate student and am writing a book about my research on common bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) songs, available (along with my resume), upon request.   I have found convincing evidence that the common bottlenose dolphin (Tursips truncatus ) has an ability to sing (improvise) in major keys and (from studies of their behavioural ecology), has an ability to reason and has a peaceful composure (in populations without heavy predatory impact and outside of a fjord-like region).   If you would like to be involved in my research as a volunteer, there is a possibility that in the future, I can pay you some kind of income, or that we can collaborate on research, however, you will need to respect the conclusive evidence I have found, that humans are loving, non-competitive and non-aggressive in nature (from the conclusive evidence for two new theories of evolution).

Panning not working

Im using adobe cc and cannot seem to get panning in multitrack to work. Its hook3d up to a presonus studiolive 24.4 mixer...and all my settings in the mixer are correct. I can pan if i do so on the mixer...but thats just an overall for the entire mix. I can see in auditon when i pan, the meter for the specific track im panning  will show its panned correctly but i still get sound out of both speakers. However, if i pan all the way to the left..the sound cuts completely out. What am i missing here? Can someone tell me what the basic audio setting ls for channel mapping should be...or maybe something else that could be causing this is?

Hi, When I try to launch my Adobe Audition I get a box that states "Adobe Audition could not find a supported audio device. Please check your device settings." I am a bit computer ignorant. What does this mean and how do I handle it?

Audition CC MME device internal error

Hello,

 

Can somebody help me with this error?

I get an MME device internal error if I want to change my microphone and headset.

 

If i select my microphone and headset it says its not working but it is in games and other programmas?

It is set as default in my computer aswell

 

Any ideas?

Vst box size

Are the size of 3rd party vsts embedded in the actual vst or is it adjustable? I just bought the softube volume 2 bundle and loaded the vst and I can barely even see the writing under the knobs. its so bad I had to get close to the monitor and strain my eyes. I searched all over the web, and also on the softube website and cant seem to find an answer. the vst box itself can be adjusted in size..but the only part that gets bigger is the border, thus creating blank space between the actual vst and surrounding border window its in. im using a 4k uhd monitor with windows 10. think its possible this could be due to screen resolution?

Talkback mic workaround?

after searching the forums and online I guess using a talkback mic with audition isn't an option? which really sucks if so. I tried using mine on my presonus studio live mixer and It doesn't seem to work. so im wondering..if I just hookup this dynamic mic to a different mic channel in my studiolive mixer..and then use that channel in a track in audition to feed to the vocalist would it work the same way? the mic has an on and off switch..so I could just turn it on when needed. Im hoping it would work since it would pretty much be the same setup as the vocal mic except it would sit on my desk in the control room....ive also heard about this app call MOTU..mark of the unicorn..thats suppose to solve this issue. has anyone had any experience with it??

One week ago, everything in Audition worked fine. Then, Windows 10 forced an update on me. Now, nothing works. I can't get audio to play out, nor can I record audio in. When I open Audition, I get the following error notice:

 

"Loading the default input and output devices failed: MME device internal error. Would you like to review Audition's audio hardware preferences?"

 

When I go through the preferences, every option I might change is appended with "not working." I can't seem to find anything to change within windows settings to help the problem. I'm still able to listen to audio (both through my headphones and internal speakers). I can't seem to get audio in no matter what I do though (not even in the windows voice recorder).

 

I've tried using a handful of different microphones, none of which are working.

 

I'm working on an HP Envy, if that matters.

 

Also, Adobe, if you're listening, I'm very disappointed that you sent me to a forum to have this fixed. I'm paying for Audition. I can't pay for products that don't work/are difficult to use and that come with customer no-service. If this isn't cleared up quickly, I'll quit using it and find something else.

envelops and vst plugin

I would like to create a VST plugin that could allow to show an envelop like the volume envelop in Multitrack Editor. How to develop it ?

Then, how and where are stored data information of the mixed envelop. I've been looking in .sesx session file but no datas about volume or panoramic were strored

CCITT u-Law encoder settings

Hi - Please forgive my ignorance I have a lot to learn about audio recording but I have searched these forums and the web extensively as well as trial and error and I'm stumped.

 

I've just got a copy of Adobe Audition and have been asked to create audio prompts for a unity Connection (CISCO) phone system.

The parameters I've been given are as follows:

 

Bit rate: 64kbps

Audio sample size: 8 bit

Channels: 1 (mono)

Audio sample rate: 8khz

Audio format: CCITT U-law

 

I think I have found where to adjust all of the parameters above except the audio format.

I found information proclaiming that these audio prompts can be created with Audition (even recomended) but no actual step by step instructions.
I also found some free conversion tools. I tried recording it with Audition and converting. The quality is severely worse off after conversion. I guess this is to be expected with 8 bit but I would like to have the best quality possible.

 

I got a decent sounding 8-bit recording in Audition but in the properties of the resulting .wav file for the file details it states encoder settings: PCM8bit-1.png:

Whereas the one I convert with the free converter shows Encoder Settings: CCITT u-Law

SO my question is... How can I get the ecoder settings to read CCITT u-Law when saving/exporting directly from Audition?

And any tips for maximizing the quality of the recording are appreciated. You can see the settings I chose above.

Multitrack Session Audio Is Totally Distorted - Sounds Like Digital Beeps

Hi Adobe community,

 

I'm trying to figure out what happened to my audio. I created a multitrack session and was monitoring my input from a single microphone. Sounded great during recording. Saved the multitrack session, and came back to it a week later. Now, whenever I play anything, it sounds like the random beeps an angry robot would make, with no trace of the original audio. The waveform is blocky and computerized, and it seems anything related to my original audio, except perhaps the amplitude and spacing of the waveform, is completely gone. I have no idea how this happened. Attaching a link to the file so you can see it.

Distorted Audio

Hey folks,

 

Whenever I start Adobe Audition (CC 2018), the audio becomes distorted. The audio quality becomes rather "tinny" and loses its low-end. Whenever I click out of the program - to go to the browser to play a YouTube clip or something - the audio switches back to optimal quality.

 

I'm working on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.2.

 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

How do I stop the test files that are created with no extensions?

I'm running into a frustrating problem.

 

Any time I work on my sesx project files, it seems to want to generate a new file that looks like "test2944682a-e5ca-4dfd-ba45-86ddeee48d18" in the "Creative Cloud Files" Audition 11.0 backup sub-directory. The next time I go to open an sesx, it says that it couldn't remove the test file and that the sesx file cannot be opened. I have to manually delete the test file, THEN open the sesx file. Sometimes I see a test file appear (I'll keep the directory window open) automatically without evening prompting any save, close, or new file. And it seems to want to create new test files instead of updating pre-existing ones, so they accumulate.

Im also getting frustrated because I feel like every time I make an adjustment to my project, add a new recording, or edit an existing recording, the project saves duplicates with extended files names that just get longer and longer. It wont just let me "Save". It forces me to "Save as" and throws a fit if I try to overwrite the file Im working on.

 

Any help is deeply appreciated.

Audition + Focusrite Scarlett 18i8

I'm having an issue with Adobe Audition recognizing a 3rd and 4th channel. I'm using the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 usb audio interface on a Windows laptop. I record a podcast and have no issues recording 2 microphones but Audition doesn't appear to have an option for me to add 3rd and 4th channels so I can have multiple guests.
