Audition 2017 Waveform Bug

I filed a bug report yesterday. I also alerted the guys on twitter -

 

Running ver.2017 on a Quad MacPro w/32 gigs of RAM and a 1 gig ATI GPU on El Capitan.

 

I noticed this yesterday while cutting an audio clip. At first the behavior was only occurring in the Global Waveform view/area and in the Prewire Editor. This morning I'm noticing if you make a large selection in the Editor, the issue persists.

 

Video is about 40sec. Also, towards the end I drop in two Markers and select the area within the Markers, then delete. Issue persists.

I have no other graphics issues on my machine (Pro Tools, Logic X, FCPX, etc).

Problems importing old .ses files in Audition CS6

Hi,

 

I have some old .ses files from an earlier project I did in 2005. Now when I try to open them in Audition CS6, I only get an error saying: "We were unable to open this file using any of the currently available importers. It is either corrupt or using an unsupported format."

 

I have checked the option in Media & Disk Cache saying: "Enable DLMS Format Support", but it doesn't help.

 

I'm not sure what version of Audition I used back then.

 

Is there any way I can solve this?

Weird Distortion at the End of Sentences (Audition)

Hi guys! I've recently begun noticing that the audio in my recordings get distorted sometimes at the end of a sentence, turning the audio into a weird, robotic sound. It was acceptable at first but now it happens every other sentence and is ruining my VO recordings for clients. It's driving me nuts.

These past few days I have went in-depth to find out the problem, but still no luck. I use an Apogee 96k mic which is a couple of months old now. Changing the sample rate doesn't work. I don't think it's a problem with Audition because the raw audio already has the problem. Even switching to Audacity the problem still exists, so it shouldn't be a problem with the DAW.

 

So the next thing I did was to change my mic. I used my spare mic, a Rode NT-USB.  The problem was lessened but it was still there on multiple cases.

 

Is it a problem with my computer? I record on a Macbook Pro which is a few years old by now? It's making me quite paranoid now that the one making these noises is actually me, and I'm actually a cyborg with faulty voice circuitry.

 

Has anyone encountered this problem before or have a solution for this problem, or is there a way to edit this to sound more normal? Thanks so much!

Fade in / fade out disabled for some reason........

Hallooooo People

 

Okay, up until recently I was able to use my fade in /out thingy quite easily with no issues. From about Monday onwards, it was disabled..... How can I fix this, please help if you know what I'm doing wrong.

Auditon CC 2018 crashing when editing effects during playback

I just updated to CC 2018, and now have constant crashes when choosing to edit an effect from the effect rack, during playback.

 

It sometimes work, but the crashes occur like 2/3 times.

 

I have the following events in my windows event log:

Favorite xml file transfer from CS6 to cloud version

Has anyone had issues with the transfer of a favorite xml file from an older Adobe Audition CS6 to a new cloud based version? I seem to see some instances with the favorites in the upgraded version, of incorrectly timing down audio.

Hi, I want to know if it's possible to modify multiple audio parts of a premiere pro project in the same time. I'm obligated to modify one sample at the time and repeat the same action for all my premiere pro audio.

Audition CC File Save Format default

Using Audition CC Build 11.0.2.2.  How can i set it so that every file i want to Save (or Save-AS) the default file type suggestion is mp3?

 

If i save a file as mp3, close it, create a new audio file, record something, then when choosing Save or Save-As the suggested file type goes back to WAV and i have to scroll through the choices.  Why?  if a default is not possible it should at least give you the same file type you last used.

 

Any ideas would be welcome, thanks.

Audio recording/playback

When I record an audio file on Audition

using my USB audio interface, the recording sounds like it's off mic when I play it back. I am going to Preferences>Audio Hardware and choosing my USB device in the dropdown menu for Mic selection. The audio file looks like a normal recording, but is clearly off mic when in playback mode.  Can you help?

1. Frage

Wie kann ich eine Audiodatei so importieren, dass sichergestellt ist, dass sie kopiert und nicht nur eine Verknüpfung zur Quelldatei hergestellt wird? Für den Videoimport in Premiere gibt es dafür einen optionalen Butten. In Audition habe ich dergleichen nicht gefunden.

 

2. Frage

Wie kann ich die Datei nach der Bearbeitung wieder so exportieren, dass keinerlei Qualitätsverluste stattfinden?

How to delete silence in batch process using Audition CS6

I've started using Audition CS6 recently.

I'm able to delete silence at the beginning and end of the source audio files using delete silence effect (from diagnostics window).

I'm not able to record this as new favorite so that I can apply it in the batch process.

How can I delete silence at the beginning and end of the source audio files (1000 or more files) using batch process?

It will be of great help if I can get guidance on this, instead of manually editing these files.

"Select all ranges" + "Invert selection" + "ripple delete selected ranges"

It seems like this should be simple but is it possible?

Allow selection of several ranges from the markers window.

Right-click on selected ranges to choose "Invert selection".

"Ripple delete selection" - will delete each selected range 1 by one from the earliest one until the end.

This would allow rapid cleaning/editing of files with hundreds of identified "To keep" marker ranges. Otherwise it is extremely long & tedious. (It would be very useful for editing single recordings for IVR messaging, sometimes 1000s of messages, each a few seconds long - so a few clicks instead of a WEEK's manual labor! ).

Inserting into multitrack is not an option as markers are not reinserted, and all the ranges must be exported to separate files

Using ExtendScript with Audition.

I would like to write a script (in ExtendScript Toolkit) that would take a .wav file, make a couple of copies, apply some effects to each and insert them all in a multitrack session. This should be pretty straightforward, but I have not been able to find good documentation or examples on using ExtendScript with Audition.

 

After reading the forums, my impression is that ExtendScript works with Audition, but there's no documentation beyond some automatically-generated help. I wonder if somebody can point me to a similar script that I could modify or if there is another way of accomplishing the same automatically.

HELP!! MME device internal error...

...suddenly popping after system update last night. I have checked settings, everything appears normal, but showing 'not working' for no apparent reason. Everything has been re-set, re-booted, etc, so now what for a "non techy" gal!!!??? Any very specific guidance will be greatly appreciated!! Alas, no phone support for Audition...REALLY?? Wow! Thanks guys/gals!!  05/24/18

Sound cuts out after using Reverb dialog

Hello, I've noticed an odd problem in the latest version of Audition CC (Mac, High Sierra 10.13.3) where any time I'm working on a file and open any reverb dialog (but usually "Full Reverb"), after I close it there's no playback sound and I have to restart Audition. This even carries over into Premiere--if I'm editing an audio clip from a Premiere project in Audition, use reverb, sound goes out on Audition, I quit Audition, go back to Premiere and there's no sound there either until I quit and restart). Other applications seem unaffected when this happens. So far I've only seen this effect when using the reverb effects. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

 

After seeing the demo of the new #VoCo project, I'm quite interested in becoming a beta tester. I'm a Creative Cloud user, and I do freelance editing, mixing, composing and sound design work for major market public radio and podcast companies (New York Times, Gimlet, WNYC Studios). The VoCo tool looks like it could be a game-changer in the world of dialog editing, and I'm intrigued to learn more ASAP!

Sound at a speed of 125% desynchronized in audition ???

I made a edit with a speed of 125% for audio and video.
When I export it in audition, the sounds at 125% are no longer synchronized.

Phonetogram: how can I analyse my voice with Adobe Audition?

I'd like to make a phonetogram* of my voice, in order to analyse what its reach and volume-per-semitone is. Is there an option in Adobe Audition to do this?

*A phonetogram displays the dynamic range of the human voice in terms of both fundamental frequency ( pitch ) and intensity (loudness). This display can be useful in identifying the limits of vocal function. (source)

Going wireless. Audio interface?

I'm trying to ditch my desktop and all the stuff that plugs into it. I wager my interface is something that I will have to plug in when I want to record. However, is there one most suitable to plugging and unplugging frequently?

 

I am a Windows user, although I change laptops annually it seems. I use Audition 3.0, but I'm fine upgrading if that's what it takes.
