Recording a Skype call
I need clarification about recording a call from Skype, especially about the settings. Am I able to record my guest's voice in Multitrack on the second track while mine is on the first track? How do I set the input for the second track? How do I set the Audio Hardware settings? Do I need to change the Input/Output settings on the MacBook Pro in the control panel? I have my MacBook Pro connected to a Mackie FX8v2. I have a splitter cable in channel 5/6 and connected to the MacBook Pro. The red plug is in Line in 5 (L) port and the black plug is in the Line in 6 (R) port. I am basing the setup on a YouTube video by Shannon Hernandez, called, 'How to Record Skype Calls for Podcast with Adobe Audition.' Thanks!

Capture Device Offline issue on Premiere Pro CS6
I have been capturing video from a Cannon Vixia HF G10 to a Windows 10 computer with no issues. I got a new office computer (still windows 10), installed Premiere Pro CS6 and everything works fine for editing current projects. However, when I try to capture, I get the "Capture Device Offline" message at the top of the F5 capture screen. It has to be a setting in CS6, but I don't know where to start. Thanks for any advice.

How do you export to .m4a format?
Not new to DAWs but very new to Audition.
I'm switching to Audition from Garageband and want to export to .m4a for consistency with a project at work. I've tried a number of different combinations of export settings, but ultimately either get .aac or .caf outputs when done, even when the file name in the setting ended with .m4a. Am I missing something here?

Moving multiple tracks do not stay in sync!
Hi,
I have an audition project with multiple clips on multiple tracks. When i go to move multiple clips at the same time they slightly go out of sunc/ jump as i move. This happens even when it is grouped together and still doesnt make any sense.
I do not understand why it does this regardless, in what case is this even a practical option?
To repeat... I have 2 tracks with over 40 clips across them. Everytime I make an edit and want to drag the rest of the clips together to close a gap the clips dont smoothly move together but jitter and oddly dont stay exactly how they were before i highlighted them and moved them. Also to combat this I tried looking for a nudge key to move all the clips by a keyframe each time but I cant seem to find one... much like in premier pro with nudging a video clip.

Audition CC: Effects > Noise Reduction Process
Upon selecting the Noise Reduction Process under the Effects dropdown in Adobe Audition, nothing happens. No menu or panel opens. I was just using this exact tool last week, no issue, but now it won't open. I've randomly selected other Effects and they all open. I've tried closing and re-opening the program/file, still nothing.
Any suggestions would be great.

Playhead in Audition jumping back to the beginning of the timeline when I hit play or pause
While editing a huge audio project, about 80% of the time I hit pause or play, the playhead jumps back to the beginning of the timeline. This is driving me crazy, since it means I have to go hunting for the actual point I left off in the project and re-orient myself to the task I was previously immersed in. It's doubling my working time. Is this an option I can turn off? (It's also not consistently happening every time.)
Also, if I've split audio already, sometimes when the playhead moves from one split clip to the next, as soon as it crosses the split, it will jump back to the beginning. I'm starting to pull out my hair every time I hear the first two seconds of my intro music!

fatal error when opening session
i keep getting this error when opening my sessions. anyone know what it is and how to fix it? i went to the destination and just deleted all the files in that folder once..and it worked fine for a few now it comes back up soon as i open a session

Looping Playback when it shouldnt
Hey guys,
im really new to Audition and audio narration, but i have hit a problem and im really lost with this. I have two questions really,
First, i have recored a chapter from a book, when i open the file it all looks normal, the wave pattern is there and the timer reads the correct length but there is no sound. Its not muted as i can open other files and listen to them no problem.
Second, when I opened the file i was working on and the wave formed looked normal and as it should, but when i played it back it was playing a continuous loop of three words. I engalged the wave image to look at what it was playing but when i get to a certain point in the zoom it changes from the original wave pattern to a wave pattern of the three looped words, so now i have thirteen minuets of three words.
Dose anyone have any thoughts on what has happened?

Audition CC seem to not communicate with my interface
Hi everyone! I could really use your help..
I'm trying to record on Audition using my PreSonus 22VSL AudioBox interface. now the interface it self seem to work, I can hear perfectly on my headphones and the meters on the VSL are working fine.
In Audition i made sure that i choose it in audio hardware but for some reason the meters on audition wont react and i cant seem to record any sound what so ever.
please help me here! tnx

Length of timeline in the Editor panel
I am new to Audition, but one learns quick. Just one thing I cannot handle. I have opened an audio file with various songs, the one after the other, and I am copying pasting one song after the other to separate files. I can see now, after cutting out half of the songs, in the Editor panel the timeline till 1.55 and there is the problem. The next song I want to cut out is longer then that. The slider in the Mixer panel allows me to shorten that time, not to make it longer. The Selection/View panel does not allow me to lengthen End or Duration.
Any help welcome!

HELP!! MME device internal error...
...suddenly popping after system update last night. I have checked settings, everything appears normal, but showing 'not working' for no apparent reason. Everything has been re-set, re-booted, etc, so now what for a "non techy" gal!!!??? Any very specific guidance will be greatly appreciated!! Alas, no phone support for Audition...REALLY?? Wow! Audition CC 2018 wont play audio tracks
I am at a loss to figure this out.
The setup: I have made a screen recording on an iPad. The resulting MP4 file has four audio channels in it. The top two (L & R) are empty and the bottom two (again, L & R) have an audio waveform. Earlier this week, I was able to load the file into Premier Pro CC 2018, and hear the audio, which was requried for properly syncing the footage to video shot with two cameras. Today, for whatever reason, The audio on those video files will not play in Premier, even though the audio level meter shows activity. What does this have to do with Audition? Well, in an attempt to get SOMETHING that I could use, I loaded the MP4 into Audition with intention of extracting the audio to later pair with the video in the timeline.
What I've tried: Once in Audition, I noticed the multiple channels of audio (two empty over two filled). If I disable any one one of the two audio tracks with a waveform in Audition, the other plays through the headphones. If not, no sound comes out. Almost as if the third track is a perfect sound cancellation track for the fourth and vice versa.
So, I extracted all audio channels to new MONO files. The two new mono files with a wave form will not playback audio...
Next, I tried saving the MP4 (with three audio channels disabled so that ONE plays) as a new WAV audio file. Resulted in a 4 channel audio file that fails to play audio again.
Moved on to trying to convert from multi-channel to stereo - conversion failed, then to mono - conversion failed and Audition crashed.
What is going on here?

Suggestion: An Adobe for writing music.
I just wanted to comment my suggestion about creating an Adobe platform for creating music scores, and maybe the works created with it, could be compatible with Audition. That would be great

Applied effects in Waveform. I like what I did, how can I copy them over?
I know that using the Multitrack option is better and non-destructive.
I also was able to locate the history and see everything that i applied to the clip. I think it sounds exactly the way I want it to. So....am I out of luck?
In other words, if I don't mind these being permanent, how can I copy paste? Or will i have to do this in the effects rack and start all over from scratch and dial in my settings again? I'd like to avoid this if at all possible.

Nothing there when I open a "session"
Okay, so I was working with an mp3 and I used the Center Channel Extractor to create an a cappella version of one of the verses. I saved the "session" and now when I click on the .sesx file Audition opens up but there is nothing there. No waveform, nothing. Where does my session go? Why can't I just open up a project (yes, I know they are called sessions) and continue where I left off? Is all my work on this track gone?
