Mac-Momentary Beach Ball During Editing

So, I've had this since I updated to CC Adobe Audition over multiple versions.  I use Audition for waveform editing daily.  And 5 to 10 ten times, when trying to play or zoom (typically, as I think to describe), I get the beach ball stopping progress... for maybe 10 seconds, then whatever commands I trigger seem to queue up... and then activate.  I would guess I am making somewhere in the range of 50-100 waveform edits daily... And then sometimes it just sticks.

 

I upgraded my interface last year, but that didn't change anything.  And I keep thinking a new version of Audition will fix it, but it remains with latest January 2017 update. 

 

Is there a fix for this?  Anyone else having this problem?

 

I am on OS 10.11.6 (and have upgraded thru a few versions of El Capitan).  And I cannot recall if I had the problem with Mavericks in 2014 (when I started using Audition CC), but I don't think so.  Perhaps I should mention I use Pro Tools, Ableton Live and other DAWs, but don't have this problem.

Corrupt Session Error - Huge Issue

Several times when trying to go back to a session and pick up where I left off on saved work I've received an error screen and the program has had to shut itself down. Very frustrated with having to start work over from scratch each time the program fails to open a saved session file.

Normalizing Many Multitracks..

Hi All,

 

I'm a pro musician in a touring cover band duo. I recently took on the role of producing all the audio track backings we use in most of our songs, and I'm using Adobe Audition CS6 to do it. So in my case, I have about 40 songs that my duo partner and I play.. I start with the full backing tracks downloaded in multitrack format from Karaoke Version - so each song has say 15 stereo tracks (drums, bass gt, keyboards, lead vocals etc...). While the recording quality and muso performances were I guess reasonable in most of the tracks, most of the tracks haven't been mixed together all that well. I want to run about 20 songs into each other, to end up with say, a one-hour non-stop track that we can play when we gig.


What I want to know is:

Bearing in mind that each multitracked song's tracks levels and gains aren't mixed all that well, what order of operations would you suggest I do things in to fix all the track levels etc of these 20 multitracks, so that each song sits perfectly against the next one it runs into? I don't want to be riding faders on the mixer when we perform.

 

Should I just normalise each individual instrument track to (say) -6Db first? (I need it lower than 0Db, as when we add our live stuff in, we end up peaking). Then once all the individual tracks are normalised to -6Db, just tack the full songs all together in whatever arrangement I want?

Why can't I open my wave file to edit in Audition

I recorded and in Audition and saved it on my external hard drive. Now I want to edit it but when I go to open it in Audition I get this message:

I can play the file on my computer however it has not saved the last  part of the session I recorded.

Can anyone please help me to be able to open it so it does not 'error', so that I can edit the audio that is saved?

Error when saving audio file

I am having an issue when trying to save an audio file.  Looking for some help on what might be causing the problem.  With the audio file highlighted, I select Save As and title the file.  When I hit OK, this error comes up..The file is in use by another application and cannot be overwritten.  I am saving the file name as something new so it is not trying to overwrite a file with the same name.  Also there is not another Audition opened in the background or any other programs that could cause "another application" error.  Thanks for your help.

Systematic crashes on mixdown :-( !!

Hi to all,

 

in the attempt of exporting a multitrack session the SW systematically crashes. In particular, it doesn't notify any error or warnings, it simply shuts down so that then I have to reopen the project. If anyone can help me I can provide the log files.

Isolate Vocals without Central Channel Extractor

I've been trying to separate vocals and music from a song. The problem is that for this song, both the vocals and the music are contained in the side channels, making it very difficult to isolate either. Is there another method that I can use?

Subtle Chime Effect

Some time ago I was browsing through the various effects in the Audition CC 2018 Effects rack. I stumbled across a neat effect that could add a chime to a voice. I'd like to use it, but can't for the life of me remember where it was. I think it had the word fairy or feyin the effect name. Help, please!

Always Missing 8 Seconds

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I produce a weekly multi-track project (from a template), which LOOKS like exactly 2:00:00 in Audition, but exports (directly or via Media Encoder) to 1:59:52 consistently. See the below screenshots.

Audition's interface "frame rate" drops during playback

Can't seem to find anybody else with this problem, hopefully someone here can help.

 

When playing back a track in Audition, the frame rate of the video (as in, the actual visual feedback you get as the playhead or track scrolls) gets progressively worse. Audio plays back normally--no jittering, stuttering, nothing like that. But the playback head and the level meters start to drop frames.

 

When I first open the program, the problem is either not present or (more likely) not noticeable. But it returns within a matter of minutes and gets progressively worse. Within about 10-30 minutes, it gets so bad I can't pick edit points or monitor the levels visually and have to relaunch the program.

 

I'm using Audition 11.1.0.184 (currently up to date) on a MacBook Pro:

High Sierra (10.13.4, also currently up to date)

2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

 

This doesn't happen with any other application, so I assume it's not my graphics card or anything like that. I have deleted and reinstalled Audition CC already; the problem recurs along the same timeline (10-30 minutes of playback).

 

It happens on single-track mono sessions with no other programs running, so I know it's not a memory or processor problem.

 

Anybody know what this is? Anybody ever even heard of this problem? Any help you can give is much appreciated. Thanks.

Recurring Beep in Audio - How to Remove

Hello,

I am a fairly new user to Audition and would really appreciate any help on this issue regarding the audio I recorded. For a recent wedding I recorded, once I imported my audio (captured through a microphone recorded to the GH4 audio jack) I hear this recurring audio beep that is constant through the audio track. Every 5 seconds or so, I hear this beep and it is very distracting.

 

Besides using the auto-heal tool on each individual audio beep, what are some recommended tools I can use to automatically remove these many beeps? It would take far too long to manually auto-heal each audio glitch during the ceremony and many other clips recorded. I also tried to learn the sound model on each of these audio glitches, but it cannot fully remove it.

Audition Round Tripping a Second Sequence

I have recently learned how to round Trip to Audition and I love it..... But, I have 4 sequences to send and return. The first went just fine and Came back just fine.

The second Sequence went just fine.... I apply my effects and do my thing. I hit "Multitrack... Export to PPro... It asks where i want it and how do I want it. It seems to work  and sends me back to PPro and then nothing... No Where do you want it ...No How d you want it.... I cannot figure out what is happening. Please any help is Greatly needed and appreciated.

How to copy and paste a "noise reduction" effect to multiple premiere clips

Hi there! First off I just want to say I am an Audition novice. I work 99% in Premiere and After Effects and only use Audition for Input Boosting and Noise Reduction. Unfortunately, I need to reduce noise from hundreds of clips that were shot in the same room. a few of the clips have enough lengths with no talking that I can reduce the noise quietly, so how can I apply that exact same noise reduction effect to all the clips at once into my premiere project?

Audition has encountered a fatal error......every time I try to create a new Mixdown

I get the dreaded "Audition has encountered a fatal error and needs to be shut down. Could not delete the file c:/Users\username\Creative Cloud Files\Audition\11.0\Backup\filename" error each and every time I try File/New Multitrack Session (or if I click on the Multitrack button next to Waveform).

 

I'm on the latest version of Audition CC 11.1.1.3

 

Running on an HPZ840 (Windows 10 Pro)

OS Build 14393.2248

Adobe Audition rendering (5k).

Hello,

 

in the course of the last 3 years, I've downloaded the trial of Adobe Audition 3 times. In the end, I always give up going back to protools.

I love Audition for its UI and concept but on my monitor (5k) the rendering of the waveform and the spectral display is very slow and it's not possible to work.

 

I made some tests and I noticed that when the display is over 4,9k, Audition render is antialiased (the waveform and the spectral) and therefore it critically slow down.

On my LG monitor (3440x1440) it works fine. On the iMac 5k or another LG monitor (3840x1600) it's impossible to work. It lags and takes so much time to render the screen.

 

I'm going to work on a production which is complex and I would need to use Adobe suite to connect the different areas of work (video, audio etc) so Audition would be perfect. But it's not possible to use it at that speed.

 

My question is: is there any tool/option available to disable that high-quality antialiasing that increases so much the rendering time making impossible to work?

 

PS: I tried to test Audition on:

- an iMac Pro 8 core 4,2ghz with 64GB Ram and Radeon Pro Vega 64 with 16GB. SSD 1TB

- a Mac pro 8 core 3ghz with 64GB Ram and two GPU AMD FirePro D700, with 6GB

 

After three years of testing, it would be nice to finally switch to Adobe.

Audition CS6 multitrack playback at -3dB

I opened a session today that I have been working on the last few days and all of the sudden the multitrack is playing  back the entire session 3dBs quieter than any of the tracks are. All faders set to zero, master fader set to zero, and all track are hard limited to -0.2, these tracks should be just under the 0dB mark, and they were, yesterday.

 

When I open the individual files in WAVEFORM EDITOR  they play back at normal levels.

 

I cannot find anything on this issue that would explain. I even opened the file in CC 2015 just to see if it followed, and IT DID!
