Little tiny imported clips

Hi.  It's coming up Christmas and they're cutting down trees...  Oh sorry - if you could take a minute out of your runup to Christmas and enlighten me on this one, I'd be postively festive.

 

I just imported some three-minute clips into a new session of Audition.  The clips appear tiny and the zoom navigator up top defaults to 21 min. If I expand the clips to fill the screen, the zoom navigator almost disappears.

 

How do I adjust the relationship between the size of the clip onscreen and the time duration for the zoom navigator?

 

I thought it might be in Preferences>Multitrack Clips, but no.  Is it something I do to the clip or is it something I do to the zoom navigator?

Hi,

 

I have Audition CS6 which I purchased and have a key for. I tried opening it today and I'm told to renew my CC subscription. Do I now need a CC subscription to open a non CC application that I bought?

Audition Bins?

I’m working on a large sound track and really need to use bins in Audition to organize the project. I have found requests online for bins dating back to 2009 and many saying it will be in the next update but that has never happened.  Does anyone know if and when this might happen?

CC 2019 48K audio glitching

Just upgraded from AA3 to AA CC 2019 and now Audition creates audible glitching on all 48K files. This is what it sounds like ..

Interestingly, if I record, a 48K WAV and play it back through Window Media Player it sounds fine, but AA doesn't seem to be able to cope with it.

To give a bit more clarity ;

 

If the file is recorded as a 44.1 Waveform it plays fine

If I convert it to 48k it glitches

If I record a file at 48k it glitches

If that file is dropped into a 48k Multitrack it glitches

If the file is dropped into a 44.1 multitrack  (it offers to to convert it to 44.1) then it's fine

 

If I try and open any previous files/mulitracks which sounded OK at 48K, they now glitch.

 

It appears to be a playback issue with AA CC 2019 not coping with 48K files for some reason, as other programs playback the same files and they sound totally clean. Nothing else has changed on my PC other than an upgrade from AA V3 to CC 2019.

 

Has anyone else come across this and found a fix for it ?

Playing only the selection

I want to be able to highlight a selection and play it, have it stop at the end and then when I hit play again I want it to start again and only play the selection. As it stands now when I hit play the second time it just plays the remainder of the audio file. But I don't want it to loop. I only want it to play the highlighted selection each time I press play. Any help?

Error when editing video audio

I've been trying to edit and refine the audio from a video file that I've been working on in Premiere. And whenever I try to open the file, or save it or apply a filter, I get an error. "Audition has encountered an error reading or writing to disk. We recommend you save your work and restart audition." So it crashes, I restart audition and the same error comes up.

 

I've tried opening the file, a .mp4 file, straigh in Audition, same error as when I right-click in Premiere and try and select "Edit in Adobe Audition." The difference being that when I open it in Audition itself, the error message comes up and it crashes, where as with opening it via Premiere, the error comes up but the file still opens, but when I try and apply a filter, or save it etc. the error message returns and then crashes.

 

I've previously had no issue with editing premiere audio via audition...

Side-Chain a Bus?

Hey so this is hopefully basic enough to do... I know how to side-chain/duck a single voice track with a single music track but for some reason cannot figure out why I can't side-chain my music to a bus track I've created (for multiple voice tracks)... I'm not an experienced Audition user so any help appreciated.

Hello Adobe users,

I was trying to update my version of adobe cc 2015 to adobe cc 2019 and now I have both versions on my task bar. Do I just un-install the old version or will it un-install when I shut down my computer and then start it up again? Thanks, Jim.

Stereo changes in waveform not carrying over to Multitrack

Hi guys,

 

So this is an error, either on my part or on Audition, that's been bugging me horribly.

I'm mixing sound for a trailer, where several clips within the overall mix need to be converted to stereo and so on.

When I modify the clips on waveform, as one should, set all my custom stuff like convert to stereo, and adjusting the DB, it's all fine, sounds perfect. It's saved.

Then when I switch my view to the multitrack, the change is not reflected on this view, specifically the "stereo convert" - the DB adjustments and any other do.

What am I missing? When I go back to the waveform of these clips, the stereo is there, perfectly fine. The only way I've been able to cheat myself into this fix is by re-inserting and re-sync the clip manually, which is an insane way to do this.

Can anyone help?

Audition Audio Question

I am working on my first attempt at a podcast.

 

I have some music on one track. I have lowered the volume of the music on that track when the audio begins on another track. It all sounds exactly like I want it to on Audition. However, when I export it to an mp3 file & it plays back on iTunes, the volume isn't adjusted.

 

Can you help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

How to Change Settings in "Speech Volume Leveller"?

Greetings,

 

    I'm using Audition CC 12.0.1.34 on a late 2016 Macbook Pro.

 

    I have a Voice Over track where I need to have the Loudness to be normalized (highs reduced, lows raised).

 

    I tried using Speech Volume Leveller as an Effect on the Track, and tried pulling the sliders to change settings.

    However, I find that when I change the value of "Target Volume Level", it resets back to -12db. Ditto with the other settings.

    The Preset I used was "Custom".

 

    Even more puzzling, was that the Output level of the Voice Over is approximately -3 to -5 db.

    I've attached a Screengrab.

    Any ideas on how to fix this?

not able to give my own pause in text to Speech

adobe audition will input text and gives out speech, but i need some pause  for 5 seconds or my own timing, is there any program language for this to give pause in between for speech

Hallo,

ich habe mir unter Windows7 die deutsche Version von Audition 2018 installiert, um für meine Videos Stimmen zu generieren. In der Stimmenauswahl finde ich nur die englische Stimme von Anne, außerdem ist unter Effekt - Sprache generieren  /  Sprache nur Englisch grau angezeigt. Wie und wo kann ich andere Stimmen und Sprachen herunterladen und installieren? Danke für Tipps   Paul

Export multitrack mixdown to MP3

Hi guys, I recently upgraded my audition to the latest version via Creative Cloud.  Using the software just as I did before the upgrade I've been attempting to export a multitrack mixdown to mp3.  I do this by selecting all the clips in the tracks in the session then going to file>export>multitrack mixdown>selected clips.  I then put in all the settings just as I normally do for the mp3 I want to be exported and click ok.  The session flickers a bit but doesn't seem to go through the normal conversion process and then goes back to normal.  When I go to look in the location where the file should have been created there is nothing there.  I chatted with support last week, they dialed into my PC and got it to work by "selecting the master track also"  I never had to do this before, but have attempted exporting several times while selecting the master as well.  That also did not work.  I'm at my wit's end because I'm working on a deadline and can't get the files that I need.  Does anybody have any idea what might be going on?

Bad hiss after conversion from 48k to 44.1 - help!!

I converted 36 WAV files that range from 10 mins to 1 hour in length in "batch conversion" from 48000 to 44100, and all of them now have a horrible hiss.  What happened?   Can this be reversed??

How Do I "Scrub" Through Audio In Audition?

How can I advance through audio slowly when I am very zoomed in? I need to find transient noises like mouth clicks that are only milliseconds long, but when I am that zoomed in, I can't figure out how to move my view left and right.

 

The little handle in the timeline at the top works fine when I am NOT zoomed in, because it is large enough to grab with my mouse. But when I am that zoomed in, the handle in the timeline becomes so small that I cannot make fine movements.

 

In Audition 3.0, I could just drag the bottom of the main audio edit screen. So this is another growing pain from moving to CC.

Very Long Load Time for Sessions/Clips

Hi everyone,

 

I've been having this issue for the past month, trying to find an answer/workaround. I am doing the sound mix for a feature that came out of Premiere (selected edit, edit in audition, entire sequence, export video, no dynamic link) and every time Audition needs to restart for whatever reason, the clips are "loading" for what is most likely 12 hours. This is an approximate because I've been opening it in the morning before I go to work and editing/mixing when I get home.

 

The load time is definitely not fast enough considering premiere could load the whole project in just under 5 minutes including all the audio and video clips. There's only one very small video file in this Audition projet.

 

There is no specific error message, just a ridiculous amount of greyed out clips with a "loading" circle on them.

 

My computer specs:

OS X El Capitan v 10.11.6

4 GHz Intel Core i7

24GB memory, 1600 MHz DDR3

 

Audition specs:

2017.1 release

Build 10.1.0.174

 

I am using an external hard drive which houses my project files. The only thing I haven't tried is moving the project files/clips directly to the computer's hard drive. I have tried the following:

  • New export from Premiere (various options including dynamic link, currently not using dynamic link)
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Audition and Premiere (and while I was at it, all the other CC programs on this Mac)
  • Waiting for what feels like an eternity to get this session to load

 

Could it be any of the following?

  • Too many tracks in the session
  • Files located on an external hard drive
  • A weird config of Audition
  • Something else?

 

Any ideas or tips on how to solve this are HUGELY appreciated! Thanks!

Playhead Jumps to Sequence Start

I'm using Audition to record dialogue. Recording individual lines as small clips. Each track housing up to 30 minutes of clips per character.

 

Since the last few updates, the playhead is not behaving as expected. Roughly after the three minute mark, if I record a new clip and stop, the playhead jumps back to the start of the sequence instead of sticking to the end of the clip.

 

I can open a new track and the behaviour returns to normal, until I hit the 3 minute mark where it starts to jump to the beginning.

 

It seems to be a bug, since this wasn't happening a few updates ago. Wondering if anyone's run into the issue and has a potential fix.

PLEASE HELP! Fatal error on startup, cannot access documents folder

Hi, I'm running Audition CC (11.1.1) on a PC (windows 10).

Recently I started having problems when I was saving files (Save as), getting a Fatal Error.

I updated to the latest version, and now it won't start at all - I'm getting a fatal error and the message "Audition cannot access the documents folder. Please make sure current user has the read/write permission to the documents folder."

I then follow some instructions I found in the forums here, uninstalled, did the cc cleaner, reinstalled. Again, it won't start and I'm getting the same error message. I've tried holding down shift to start with the default preferences but it doesn' work - is that just a Mac thing? What's the PC equivalent?

 

Please can someone explain ***IN VERY SIMPLE TERMS*** how I can sort this out. I am not a computer wiz but I need Audition to be working to do my job.

 

I've been using Audition for years but any more of this nonsense and I'm switching to Reaper because this is infuriating for a product that costs so much.
